| The grooves in the block above reach approximately 2/3 of the way from front to back. These blocks are meant to be used with Bovi Bond. It is not advisable to glue the soft heel area of the hoof to the heel area of the block. Grooving only the front 2/3 of the block helps minimize the amount of glue needed and also acts as a handy guideline when applying the glue. another benefit is increased surface area between the block and concrete floors. while it may not seem like much of an increase in total surface area, every little bit counts when considering the lbs per square inch from a 1500 lb cow being applied to the comparatively small surface area of an average size block. | ||
